1. Who we are and what StandMatch is
StandMatch is a global, two-sided marketplace that connects companies that need a trade-show booth built (“exhibitors”) with companies that build them (“contractors” or “builders”), organised around trade-show events. We help exhibitors post a request, receive comparable bids and award a contract, and we help builders discover and win relevant work.
StandMatch is an intermediary. We are not a party to the build contract between an exhibitor and a builder, we do not design or construct booths, and we are not a bank, a law firm or a tax authority. The actual agreement to build a stand is between you and your counterparty.
2. Accounts and companies
The core account on StandMatch is a company. You join a company as a member, and your permissions depend on your role within it (owner, admin or member). When you sign up you choose whether your company exhibits or builds; a firm that does both keeps a separate company for each side.
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for the activity of your account. Provide accurate company and contact information, and keep it up to date. We may verify the details you give us and may suspend accounts that misuse the platform.
3. Posting requests and submitting bids
Exhibitors may post booth requests for free and choose one of two modes at publish time: design-build (the builder proposes the concept and constructs it) or build-only (the exhibitor supplies an existing design and the builder quotes the construction). The mode is locked once a request is published.
Builders may submit bids on relevant requests. Your bid is a genuine offer to do the work described, on the price, scope and timeline you state. Keep bids honest and complete — missing scope and unclear exclusions are the most common source of disputes.
4. Awarding, contracts and identity reveal
When an exhibitor awards a bid, StandMatch generates an Award Agreement that both sides review and accept on the platform. At that point the project starts and certain previously private information is shared between the two companies so they can transact.
Identity reveal on award. Before an award, an exhibitor’s identity is masked. On award, the awarding and winning companies’ legal names and the named members’ names and work email addresses become visible to the counterparty so the two companies can contact each other and complete the contract. By using StandMatch you acknowledge and consent to this reveal. For build-only requests, the full design files are released only to the awarded builder, and only after the contract is active — shortlisted-but-losing builders never receive the source files.
5. Fees and commission
Exhibitors pay nothing — posting, comparing and awarding are free. Builders pay a single success fee on a contract they win: a flat 5% of the contract value, with a cap and a small floor. The commission invoice is issued when both parties accept the contract and becomes due a short time later; an in-window cancellation voids it and no fee is owed. Full details are on our pricing page.
StandMatch does not currently hold funds for the build itself — you and your counterparty settle the build directly. Held-funds escrow is planned for a later phase.
6. Reviews, disputes and conduct
Reviews can be left only after a real, contract-backed project, so ratings reflect actual work. Both sides may review each other. If a project goes wrong, you can raise a dispute and we will review the paper-trail; because we are an intermediary, our role is to mediate and keep evidence, not to enforce judgments between the parties.
Do not use StandMatch to post misleading information, submit fraudulent bids, copy another company’s portfolio or designs, harass other users, or attempt to take a brokered relationship off-platform to avoid the success fee. We may flag, suspend or ban accounts that break these rules.
7. Content and intellectual property
You keep ownership of the content you upload — briefs, designs, portfolios and messages. You grant StandMatch the limited rights needed to host and display that content to operate the marketplace. Do not upload anything you do not have the right to share, and respect the design ownership and file-release terms set out in each Award Agreement.
8. Disclaimers and liability
StandMatch is provided on an “as is” basis. We work to verify builders and curate events, but we do not guarantee the quality, legality or outcome of any project, nor the accuracy of every company-supplied detail. To the extent permitted by law, StandMatch is not liable for the performance of contracts between exhibitors and builders. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Suspension and termination
You may stop using StandMatch at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms or to protect the platform and its users. Suspension does not cancel live contracts or wipe outstanding commission obligations — financial and legal records are retained as described in our privacy policy.
10. Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by a single neutral jurisdiction, stated in your Award Agreement, with disputes handled by arbitration in that seat. We may update these terms; we will post the new version here with a fresh “last updated” date and, for material changes, notify you.
